Mountain View Community Center Modernization

The Mountain View Community Center included the expansion and renovation of the 22,000-sq.-ft. community center. This included 13,000 sq. ft. of renovation with 10,000 sq. ft. of new construction in the form of a building addition. Along with providing a new space for various classes, the new community center is the headquarters for the city’s recreation department. The expansion includes two new fitness and dance rooms along with four multi-purpose rooms and a new classroom for the city’s preschool program. Colorful murals are located throughout the building, along with art that was commissioned by the City. The newly renovated building also features the “Redwood Room,” which consists of a 7,000-sq.-ft. social hall with space for 250 guests, with an adjoining kitchen and a spacious patio overlooking the park lawn. The newly renovated space is intended for use by large groups for events such as corporate retreats, weddings, and family celebrations and can be booked for events. Additionally, the project achieved LEED gold certification.
